Why hello there, Sarah! Thank you for stopping by planDisney!
Soon you'll be traveling to galaxies far, far away as you head to
Star Wars: Galaxy's Edge in
Disney's Hollywood Studios. While you're in Batuu, you can fuel up on some local delicacies at
Docking Bay 7 Food and Cargo or try some fantastical libations at
Oga's Cantina before piloting the Millenium Falcon.
However, perhaps the most exciting experience of all is building your own custom lightsaber at
Savi's Workshop! But how does a Jedi store a lightsaber, especially before embarking on an adventure with
Disney Cruise Line? I'm so glad you asked! I understand how important it is to hide your new lightsaber out of the prying eyes of the First Order, so here are some suggestions for you before sailing the high seas:
First, you may wish to speak to a Cast Member at
Disney's Coronado Springs Resort about your particular circumstance once you check in. When I spoke with a Cast Member today, it appears as though they may not store your lightsaber at the resort since you'll be heading elsewhere in Orlando after your cruise. However, as policies and procedures can sometimes change, I would recommend speaking to someone at the front desk when you check in to see if they may be able to accommodate your request.
Second, you are always welcome to ship your lightsaber back home! This is a great way to ensure that your lightsaber is intact and battle-ready when you return from your travels. To ship your lightsaber from inside the park, head over to
Dok-Ondar's Den of Antiquities or the
Droid Depot. You can also choose to ship your lightsaber by way of your resort hotel gift shop using
Home Delivery. This would be the option I'd most strongly suggest!
Third, it is possible for you to take your lightsaber on your cruise as well (you never know when you'll need to defend the light side of the Force!). The blade and hilt of your lightsaber detach, making storage much easier. After speaking with one of our Disney Cruise Line specialists,
Andrew, he suggested keeping the hilt in your stateroom's safe while securely storing the blade under the bed or upright in your closet. Lightsabers are also TSA-approved and can be brought on a plane once you return home (if you choose this option, I would suggest bringing your lightsaber as a carry-on instead of checking it in your luggage).
Sarah, no matter which route you choose, you are sure to have a magical vacation! Be sure to stop by any time you have a question, and may the Force be with you!
Til the Spires!
