Can I take a uber to the walkway outside of the Contemporary hotel and walk to Magic Kingdom if I am not staying on site? What about their monorail? Thanks

Hi, Paula! Welcome to the Disney Parks Moms Panel.

If you’d like to use a rideshare service to get to Magic Kingdom Park, you’ll want to have them drop you off at the Transportation and Ticket Center. Then you can take the Monorail or the Ferryboat to get from there to Magic Kingdom Park. There isn’t really a place for a driver to stop in front of Disney’s Contemporary Resort without going through the security gate (where they’ll ask to see your ID and ask if you have a hotel or dining reservation).

The traffic pattern has recently changed, so your driver will just need to follow the signs to the Transportation and Ticket Center. There is a dedicated passenger drop-off area there, and then it’s just a hop, skip and a jump until you’re on the Monorail or Ferryboat. You’ll go through security and bag check prior to entering the area, but once you’ve boarded a Monorail or Ferryboat, you won’t have to go through security again before entering Magic Kingdom Park.

When you’re ready to leave at the end of the day, you can return to the same spot at the Transportation and Ticket Center and have your rideshare service pick you up from there. If you plan to visit another Walt Disney World Resort Theme Park or Walt Disney World Resort hotel, though, you can use Disney’s complimentary Resort Transportation options to move from place to place while on property.

Please let us know if you have any additional questions, Paula! We’re always happy to help.
