Hi Cynthia! Now that you've found us here at the Moms Panel, there's no need to feel lost! We're happy to help you with all your Disney vacation questions!
February is a great time of year to visit Walt Disney World! Daytime temperatures average in the low to mid-70s, with evening lows in the 50s. Plan to pack a variety of clothes that you can layer for comfort: t-shirts along with a few cardigans or sweatshirts, and shorts for the day with long pants for the evening. (You can type Disney World into the search box at weather.com a week before your trip to get an exact forecast). Disney World is a fairly casual place so you don't need super-dressy clothing, but you'll definitely want to bring comfortable shoes because you'll be doing a lot of walking. Don't forget your swimsuit; even if it happens to be cool during your vacation, the pools are heated so you can swim. The
Blizzard Beach water park will be open in February, but Typhoon Lagoon will not.
All of the moderate resorts are kid-friendly, so choose the one with a theme that appeals most to you. For your family I would recommend either the Port Orleans or the Caribbean Beach Resort. The Port Orleans Riverside offers a peaceful wooded respite, but is just a short boat ride away from Downtown Disney, which gives you lots of dining and activity options close by. The resort offers lots of activities such as pedal boats and bicycling. The Caribbean Beach Resort has a fantastic pool, so it's a great choice if your kids love to swim. You can stay in a pirate-themed room there, which kids really enjoy.
When you make your resort and dining reservations, be sure to mention that it's your first Disney vacation! Mickey loves to know that information! Come visit us again here at the Moms Panel if you have more questions!
