Ahoy, Katrina!
Disney Cruise Line really thinks of everything when it comes to taking your family on a high sea adventure with Mickey! This includes the ability to wash or iron clothes in the laundry rooms onboard. I've taken advantage of this space on my last couple of sailings, and it's been so easy and helpful for my crew and me.
On the Disney Wonder, you'll find three 24-hour
laundry facilities on Deck 2, 6 and 7. These come equipped with five washers and dryers, a machine to purchase detergent, fabric softener and dryer sheets and an iron with ironing board. No cash is needed to operate the machines because all charges to wash and dry go on your Key to the Word card, which will be charged to your onboard account. Pricing is always subject to change, but you can budget about $4.00 per load and a little more if you purchase detergent, fabric softener or dryer sheets. There is no charge to use the iron, but I have had to wait to iron before so be sure to plan enough time if you are in a hurry.
To make my visits to the laundry rooms easier, I always pack a collapsible hamper to keep in the closet for dirty clothes. This makes it easy to transport the clothes to and from the laundry room without dropping anything. When I get back from washing, I can pack up the clean clothes or put them back in the drawers depending on the length of our cruise.
The other option for laundry is full-service. There is a price list located in the stateroom closet along with a laundry bag for the clothes you want cleaned or ironed. Just let your stateroom host/hostess know if you want to utilize this service.
Katrina, your vacation on the newly re-imagined
Disney Wonder is so close! Enjoy counting down the final days and bon voyage!
