We have a Type 1 diabetic child in our party, can we request a microwave for our room. With sugar swings we need to have immediate access to assist him. Thank You

Hi Tom, welcome to planDisney. I am happy to help you out with your question today!

Walt Disney World Resort goes to infinity and beyond to ensure the safety and well-being of all guests, which is one of the reasons why I love visiting as often as I do. Although microwaves are not in rooms at most Disney resorts, you can a microwave in the quick-service dining areas at your resort, and they usually are available for use from 7:00-11:00 PM. You can ask a Cast Member at check-in and see if they have any available microwaves, but this is not a guaranteed option. However, you never know unless you ask!

Tom, I want to refer you to a list of different resorts my pal Nimmy created that do offer microwaves at Walt Disney World if you want to make a resort change before your visit. Also, if you need to note any dietary restrictions for the Mouseketeer visiting with you, you can send an email to Special.Diets@DisneyWorld.com and they'll make a note to serve meals catered to them. Most restaurants feature sugar-free options for snacks and desserts, some popular choices include the Red Velvet cupcake at Sprinkles in Disney Springs, and Plaza Ice Cream Parlor at Disney's Magic Kingdom Park offers sugar-free ice cream.

I hope all of this information helps you today, Tom. Thanks for stopping by again, and if you have any other questions, feel free to reach out at any time!
