Hello, Camilla! I see you have a trip to the Most Magical Place on Earth quickly approaching! The Gran Destino Tower, the newest addition to
Disney's Coronado Springs Resort, is breathtaking! While the original resort is reminiscent of the Mexican and American Southwest, Gran Destino Tower draws its influence from the Spanish surrealist culture, with many nods to Walt's friend, Salvador Dali, throughout the resort. When I visited recently, the Cast Members were just putting up the Christmas tree, so the resort will be decked out in its holiday finery by the time you get there!
If you're anything like me, Camilla, I like to start my Disney mornings bright and early with a little boost of caffeine. We stayed in a king bed standard room, and there was a Keurig one-cup coffee maker with six pods: three Joffrey's French Roast, one decaf French Roast, and two Twining's English Breakfast teas. Other amenities include a mini-fridge, safe, an iron and ironing board, and a Conair hairdryer. We were lucky to stay on the 14th floor (wait till you experience the new-fangled elevators) and from our standard room, we had the perfect view of Epcot and Disney's Hollywood Studios where Tower of Terror and
Star Wars: Galaxy's Edge were calling to us, perfect for watching the fireworks from both Parks simultaneously.
During your stay, make time to head up to the 16th floor to experience both
Dahlia Lounge and
Toledo - Tapas, Steak & Seafood Restaurant. We received fantastic service and food from both of these rooftop locations. The Valdeón Blue Cheese bites from the Pintxos section of the menu were the best bites of food I had all trip, and it paired perfectly with my Spanish wine!
I hope you have a magical time, Camilla! See ya' real soon!
