Two more weeks! Keeping an eye on the weather; looks decent, but what do you suggest as the best "rain plans" for each of the parks? Already have a set itinerary for each day, so I'd like to know rainy day park options. Are May rains usually brief?

    Hi Sheryl,

Rain is never fun on vacation but it has never stopped my family from heading out to the parks. I recommend having ponchos or an umbrella handy for those rainy days. Also, shoes that can take the moisture such as Crocs or water proof shoes are great because they dry quickly. If your shoes do get wet, stuff them with newspaper to get them dry. May's rain is usually brief.

I think Disney's Hollywood Studios is the best park to tour in the rain. Many of the shows are indoors or covered theaters. Plus the park is small so you can stay dry as you are hopping puddles.

Animal Kingdom after the rain is nice because the animals come out after the rain. However, most of the attractions are outside so for a short rain try the Festival of the Lion King or Nemo - the Musical to wait out the rain.

Epcot's only downside in the rain is that the pavilions are further apart. However, they are mostly indoors and you can easily stay in one pavillion for most of short storm. In addition, most of the countries of World Showcase have movies and indoor attractions to keep you dry.

Magic Kingdom is more of a challenge. I would head to Tomorrowland as the attractions are indoors and close together.

Downtown Disney also makes for a good way to spend a rainy afternoon.

    Wishing you a magical vacation!
