Ahoy, Mark!
Welcome back to the Disney Parks Moms Panel! The final countdown is on and your Alaskan adventure is just around the corner. I've been fortunate enough to sail to
Alaska twice with Disney Cruise Line and know that you'll have an amazing week cruising the Inside Passage on the
Disney Wonder.
Kayaking is a fabulous choice for a water-based excursion on your vacation. You'll enjoy paddling through the serene waters taking in the extraordinary beauty that will surround you. On the kayak adventure I experienced in Skagway, we were not provided with footwear so I was prepared by wearing my waterproof shoes. I'm not sure which excursion you've chosen to do, but I did some research and found that some companies do provide boots as part of the gear. Since the description does not specify, I would be prepared by wearing sneakers or boots that are totally waterproof. I also strongly recommend synthetic or wool socks because cotton is not your friend in Alaska! You want to always be prepared to get wet since liquid sunshine is very common. Your waterproof outer layers will be the key to comfort when you venture ashore.
Mark, I'm sure your packing is well underway, and you'll be in route to Vancouver before you know it. If you have any other last minute questions, please don't hesitate to reach back out.
Have the most WONDERful time!
Nancy
