Ahoy Brooke!
Welcome aboard the Disney Parks Moms Panel. How exciting that you and your family are planning to sail away with Captain Mickey. I cannot wait for you to share all of the
magic included in your high seas adventure!
One of the best things about a Disney Cruise Line vacation is all of the delicious
dining onboard! I know that my kids love to try new and different dishes while we sail. I am sure managing meals with two pirates with type 1 diabetes can be a challenge. Thankfully Disney Cruise Line is very focused on smooth sailing for ALL of their guests.
I do not have experience with type 1 diabetes, but I do have some experience traveling with family that had severe
dietary restrictions. I was impressed with how much care was taken to understand those restrictions and the accommodations made to ensure we were all well fed! Before you sail, I recommend you contact Disney Cruise Line's
Special Services Team to note your cruise reservation and talk about options for your little ones.
Once onboard, discuss your pirates' needs with your
rotational dining service team. They will also ensure any meals served fit their needs and offer suggestions. The best part is they will be with you EVERY night! You will also find that you can store your kids' insulin during your sailing as each stateroom does in fact have its own refrigerator.
Cruise back to the Disney Parks Moms Panel if you have any additional questions before you set sail! "Sea" ya real soon! Angie
