I have two rather picky young adults and some of the restaurants we have chosen have rather "fancy" meals with sauces, etc., such as Be Our Guest. Are most places willing to serve things like steaks and chicken plain? Thanks so much in advance

    Hi Kathryn,

The fancier the restaurant, the more ability the kitchen has to modify a meal. Generally it is fairly easy for table service restaurants to leave the sauce off an entree or to switch a side dish (change rice for potatoes for example). I have often asked for small food modifications for my kids and usually have great success.

In looking at the Be Our Guest dinner menu, for example, there is a steak entree served with garlic butter. While I can't make any promises (the final call is up to the chefs on site), I'm nearly certain that this could be prepared plain, without the butter. Another option would be to order a larger portion of a child's meal for a pick eater teen or adult. For example, a kids' dinner option at Be Our Guest is a plain grilled steak. They could bring a larger serving of this for adults. As long as there's something on the menu which is close to meeting your needs, they should be able to make it work for you.

Good luck with your planning. Please let us know what else we can do to help.
