Mom And Daughter; Animal Kingdom

    Two questions: 1. I recently saw a video on youtube of Wes Palm, he looks like fun. When and where do we see him? 2. What are your favorite quick service meals in each of the parks?

    Wes Palm, the talking palm tree, is lots of fun (try asking him about how paper is made). He lives at the Animal Kingdom. I have most often seen him interacting with guests just outside the park entrance in the morning, often when when we're waiting for the park to open. There is a similar "character" at the Magic Kingdom: Push, the talking trash can. He's in Tomorrowland. I have most often seen him there in the early afternoon. An observant adult can figure out how these objects move around and talk, but don't tell the kiddos.

    There are good quick service restaurants in all the theme parks. Here are a few I like:

    Animal Kingdom - Flame Tree BBQ. Probably my favorite quick service place at WDW. Great salad with BBQ chicken.

    Disney's Hollywood Studios - Studio Catering Company. Nice chicken Caesar wrap if you're being good. Even nicer chili cheese dog if you're being bad.

    Epcot     - In Future World, nice soups and grilled sandwiches. In the World Showcase ... do I have to decide? So many good choices: croissants at the patisserie in France, burritos at the cantina in Mexico, fish and chips at the pub in England, couscous at the cafe in Morocco. Try them all.

    Magic Kingdom     - Columbia Harbor House. I love the Lighthouse Sandwich: hummus and tomato.

    I have to stop answering these food questions at night -- puts me in the mood for too much late snacking :-)
