two questions.. one where do we sign up for the cast away 5k and two where is the host port hotel for port Canaveral?

Welcome aboard, Heather! I'm glad to hear you're already beginning the plan the details of your cruise! That's half the fun!

The Castaway Cay 5K is a runDisney fun run (not chip timed) on Disney's private island in the Bahamas. I loved when I ran this for the first time a few months ago and can't wait to do it again! No need to sign up now, as you won't need to do that until you're onboard. It used to be that guests just showed up to the meeting spot on the morning of the run, but lately, I've seen notices in the Personal Navigator on embarkation day asking guests to visit the Port Adventures Desk or the Guest Services Desk to register anytime before arriving at Castaway Cay. I'm glad they are doing this now, as it makes for a smoother race morning. So, stop by and sign up. There is no cost! The group will meet at a designated spot onboard to receive race bibs and instructions, then walk off together to the starting line. At the end of the run, you'll receive a plastic "medal" with a Disney Cruise Line logo.

Now, as far as host hotels, there aren't any that partner with Disney at Port Canaveral. The Hyatt at the Orlando airport does partner with Disney Cruise Line, offering baggage pick up the morning that you embark for guests who have purchased Disney Cruise Line transfers from the airport. That makes it really easy! Or, do like we do and fly in a day or two early and stay at one of the resorts at Walt Disney World. Play in the parks or just hang out at the resort, and pre-purchase the Disney Cruise Line transfers which will pick you up at your resort to head to the ship. It really doesn't get easier than this, Heather! Disney takes care of all the details for those who use Disney Cruise Line's ground transportation, making the transition from land to sea and back again as easy as can be! The transfers are also offered to the airport or Walt Disney World resorts after the cruise and cost $35 per person.

I hope those details help as you plan, Heather!
