Hello! I have two questions. To get the dining plan, do I need to purchase tickets, or be staying on property? And if I get the regular, non-park hopper ticket, can we go to one park (say epcot) leave for a nap, and return later to epcot that same day?

Hi Amber! Thanks for the great questions. The Disney Dining Plan is offered only to guests at Disney Resorts. It is part of your Magic Your Way Package, which includes a resort stay as well as theme park tickets.

You can absolutely leave a park and return to the same park the same day, using the same, one ticket admission. We do that regularly, especially when we're there in the hot summer.  We visit the parks in the morning and take a pool/ nap break in the afternoon when the sun is at its hottest. Then we head back for dinner time and the evening, which is so fun! If you're not staying at a Disney resort and pay for parking at the park, be sure to keep your receipt, as you can go back and not have to pay again.

    Have a magical vacation Amber!
