Hi there Noreen,
Thank you for your question to the Disney Parks Moms Panel. I'm so excited for your enchanting trip to the Walt Disney World Resort this summer!
Since your daughters love Princesses, I think Disney's Port Orleans Resort - Riverside is a great choice because of the decor; it is very regal looking, like a princess would have in her castle. There is also a whimsical, Mardi Gras-themed pool to enjoy.
If ease to and from the Magic Kingdom is more your focus, then I would suggest Disney's Grand Floridian Resort & Spa, Disney's Polynesian Resort, and Disney's Contemporary Resort. These resorts surround the Magic Kingdom. My preference out of these three would be the Grand Floridian, there is Disney Character Dining at the 1900 Park Fare, so your girls may have the opportunity to see Princesses. The Grand Floridian has 2 pools, one has a splash area and a slide. Then you can hop on the Monorail and glide right over to the Magic Kingdom in a breeze. But understand the characters are not generally in the public areas at the Resorts. If they are a part of a Character Dining Experience they only appear in the restaurant.
Disney's Yacht Club Resort is the one with the major water slide, but it is closer to Epcot than Magic Kingdom. Disney's Yacht Club Resort is a Deluxe resort as are the other three, it just doesn't surround the Magic Kingdom. So really it depends on how important location to Magic Kingdom is to you.
If you don't care about a slide but just like nice pools, Disney's Art of Animation Resort has nice pools, especially The Big Blue Pool. They do not have a slide, however. But when you go underwater you can hear the characters from Finding Nemo.
I hope this helps you. If you have any more questions, please write us back on how we can help you plan your pixie-dusted vacation.
