What are the two best parks for children of 5 and 7 years? We are doing Magic Kingdom, but aren't sure if Epcot is a good choice.

The Magic Kingdom is a must-do for everyone. I would actually say that all the parks are must-dos for everyone, but sometimes schedules demand otherwise. If you only have time for two parks, the choice of the second park really will vary depending on the individual family. I can't make a blanket recommendation for everyone. Here are some things to think about to help you decide:

    1. Do my kids enjoy animals? If so, the Animal Kingdom is logical choice. The Kilimanjaro Safari is a remarkable way to learn about different species. We once had an ostrich stick its head into our ride vehicle. So cool!

    2. Do my kids have a favorite movie or show? If they love the Little Mermaid, Beauty and the Beast, Playhouse Disney, Star Wars, or Indiana Jones, then Disney's Hollywood Studios is the place to be. If Lion King is big in your house, go for the Animal Kingdom. If Finding Nemo is your thing, you could be happy at Epcot or the Animal Kingdom.

    3. Do my kids like space and technology? Soarin and Mission Space at Epcot will satisfy and flight fiend (check height restrictions before you make promises). Also Innoventions is a great way for kids to explore new technologies.

    4. Do my kids like cars? Consider Test Track at Epcot or the Lights Motors Action show at DHS as a deciding factor.

    5. Do you have a High School Musical Fan? The Pep Rally at DHS is a can't miss event.

You get the idea ... any of the theme parks (or the water parks) has great attractions for kids of all ages. I would poke around the WDW website, the allearsnet.com website, the Moms Panel website, and several guide books. See what appeals most to the individual interests and personalities of your children and then go from there.
