I have a 7,5 & twin 3 yr olds...what time would you board the ship? What are the pros and cons of 11am boarding compared to 1pm boarding? How does it work anyway? We can arrive anytime as we will be driving to the terminal? Where do we park & how m

    Ahoy there Esterina,

When your family arrives at  the beautiful Disney Cruise Terminal, you will be asked to show photo ids for any adults in the car.  You will then be directed to park in the gated parking lot, or if you have another driver you and your children can get dropped at the curb with your luggage.  There will be a porter there to collect your luggage so make sure to secure the baggage tags that you received with your cruise documents. It may be a few hours before you see your luggage again, so make sure to hold on to your carry-ons.  Parking is $15 per day, but subject to change, and payment will be due when you leave the terminal after disembarking the Disney Dream.

My family has always boarded the ship between 11:30 and 12:00.  Although the cruise terminal is usually the busiest at this time, we enjoy being able to start our cruise as soon as we can.  I do bring a  small carry-on bag for each of my children with activities to keep them busy while we wait for our boarding number to be called.  If  you arrive closer to 1:00, you shouldn't have the wait time in the terminal which might work better for your family.  One of my favorite experiences at the terminal is getting our picture made with one of the Disney characters before we board!

Once you are onboard, you room will not be ready until 1:30 so you can enjoy lunch at  either Enchanted Garden or Cabanas while you wait.  In your carry on bag, you may  want to pack swimsuits and sunscreen as the pools are usually less crowded during this time.

I hope this helps make your arrival at Port Canaveral as smooth as possible!
