I have twin 8 year old girls and we will be taking our first Disney cruise on the Disney Dream on July 18. Can my girls go to the Oceaneer Club for just a couple of hours? Of course they might want to stay longer once they get there!

Welcome aboard, Jennifer! Congratulations on your upcoming first sailing with Disney Cruise Line!

My kids adore the Youth Clubs onboard Disney's ships. But, before we set sail for the first time, I wasn't sure how long they'd want to stay in the clubs, and I was worried I'd feel guilty leaving them there while my husband and I snuck away for dinner in the adult exclusive restaurant, Palo. However, I quickly came to find out it was the exact opposite! The kids loved the clubs so much we had a hard time getting them to leave!

I'd recommend heading to the Oceaneer Club and Oceaneer Lab on your first day during Open House hours so you can go into the clubs with your girls and have a look around together. They can get a sense of the super fun spaces and chat with the counselors about all the excitement coming their way. Then, check out your Personal Navigator each day. This is a schedule of all the events and activities going on throughout the day, including in the Youth Clubs. Bring a few different colored highlighters so each family member can highlight his or her "must-do's". The girls will certainly spot some activities that are tailored to their interests, and they can head into the clubs while those are happening.

Your girls are welcome to pop into the clubs for as long or as short as they'd like. They can even ask a counselor in the clubs to contact you on your Wave Phone by call or text if they're ready to head out earlier than you'd planned. Or you can pop back to check on them and you may find out they'd prefer to stay!

Have fun as you count down to your cruise next week, Jennifer!
