I am turning 21 soon and immediately after I am going to Disney World. Will my temporary paper id be accepted for alcohol if the temporary id has my picture on it?

Hi there, Kacie, and welcome to planDisney! You'll be arriving at Walt Disney World Resort in just a few short weeks and you must be getting so excited! Have you packed your Minnie Mouse ear headbands yet? I'm so happy that you've chosen to celebrate your 21st birthday at the Most Magical Place on Earth - there's no better place to celebrate!

Kacie, it sounds like you're hoping to toast to your birthday with an adult beverage during your vacation. A helpful Cast Member let me know that temporary paper identification is typically not accepted. At this time, Walt Disney World Resort accepts the following forms of identification:

    • U.S. state driver’s license (includes U.S. territories*)
    • U.S. state ID (includes U.S. territories*)
    • U.S. military ID
    • Original passport
    • Copy of passport (either on paper or captured on a mobile device), along with a government-issued photo ID** that can verify the person and birth date shown on the copy
The Walt Disney World Resort Help Center also states: "For all questions concerning our identification requirements, please call (407) 939-5277. Walt Disney World Resort reserves the right to refuse sale and/or service of alcoholic beverages to anyone. The Walt Disney World Resort alcohol policy is subject to change without notice."

Kacie, I'm hopeful that you'll be able to bring a valid form of identification so you can celebrate your birthday with a drink in hand! My fellow Panelist pals Amy, Matt, Brent, and I recently toasted to some milestones at Enchanted Rose at Disney's Grand Floridian Resort & Spa - I highly recommend visiting this beautiful lounge during your visit.

Be sure to head to Guest Services at a Disney Theme Park or the Front Desk of your Disney Resorts Collection hotel to pick up a complimentary button that you can wear to let everyone know you're celebrating!

Please stop back by with any other questions you have as you plan your visit. If you'd like recommendations where to find more amazing drinks, snacks, and meals, you have a friend in me!

    See you real soon!
