Magic Key holder. As a fellow Magic Key holder myself, I love having the flexibility to decide when I want to stop by the Disneyland Resort for anything from a full park day to just an evening filled with attractions, snacks, and nighttime entertainment.
I’m happy to share that eligible California residents can apply the value of wholly unused theme park tickets toward the purchase of a Magic Key and may also choose the monthly payment option instead of paying the full amount upfront. To use the monthly payment plan, make sure you are signed into your MyDisney account with a valid California residential address saved to your profile. Once you select the Magic Key you’d like to
purchase, continue to the checkout page and choose the monthly payment option when prompted. You’ll be asked to save a credit card on file for the required down payment and future monthly installments.
After your purchase is complete, you’ll be ready to start using your Magic Key benefits right away, including making park reservations for upcoming visits. Just remember that when you first activate your Magic Key at the entrance gates, you may be asked to present a government-issued photo ID verifying California residency.

Disneyland’s 70th Anniversary Celebration continues throughout the summer, bringing some incredible entertainment to both parks. In Disneyland Park, “
Wondrous Journeys” lights up Sleeping Beauty Castle with projections, music, and fireworks on select nights, while “
Paint the Night” fills Main Street, U.S.A. with glowing floats and energetic music. Over in Disney California Adventure Park, “
World of Color Happiness!” transforms Paradise Bay each evening, and Carthay Circle Theatre features a special “Celebrate Happy” moment during the anniversary festivities.
I’d also definitely recommend exploring the Magic Key portal in the
Disneyland app once your pass is active. It’s the best place to keep up with exclusive Magic Key perks, seasonal offerings, special menu items, and limited-time experiences available only to Magic Key holders.
