Hi Nick,
Welcome to planDisney! Let the planning begin for this happy surprise!
Given the date of your arrival, you seem to be referencing the
price for a 1-day ticket to Magic Kingdom. Tickets to the other theme parks were a little less when I checked for the date of your visit, keeping in mind that prices are subject to change. Although I am an
Annual Passholder now, when I do buy theme park tickets for family members, I purchase them online through the Walt Disney World Website or through the
My Disney Experience Mobile App. I also always keep an eye on the
Special Offers. You could try a travel agent to see if they have any additional ways to help you save.
Now that our girls are teenagers, my husband and I are more aware of how brief those childhood moments are. I am forever grateful that we took them to visit the Walt Disney World Resort for the first time when they were 5-years old. If you are able, my advice is to take the trip. And trust me, I am ALWAYS on a budget. So, I understand the question. The memories, however, are precious beyond measure.
Nick, as you continue to plan, I hope you will consider a stay at one of the resort hotels in the
Disney Resorts Collection. If your plan is to go to Magic Kingdom, consider
Disney's Contemporary Resort Hotel because it is within walking distance to the park. If you stayed to watch the
Happily Ever After Fireworks, you could simply walk back to the resort that evening. It would be a magical end to the day!
Happy planning!
Magic and memories,
Donyell
