We are trying to stay within budget and have decided to opt for the cheaper of the dining options. Last time we got the table service and were thrilled with it. Will there still be seating with the cheaper choice? And will there be food variety?

    Hi Lisa,

When you say that you're going for the cheaper of the Disney Dining Plan options, I assume that you mean you'll be taking the Quick Service Dining Plan. The Quick Service Plan allows guests two quick service (also known as counter service) meals per day, plus one snack per day.

As for the seating issue, depending on the time of your travel, this should be no problem. There are no reservations required or accepted for quick service venues. You just walk up to the window, order your food, and sit down at a table. During the most crowded times of the day and the most crowded times of the year, you may have to wait for a moment for another guest to vacate a table, but in general table are readily available at counter service restaurants.

As for the food variety issue, you will find more limited options at the counter service restaurants than you will at the table service restaurants, particularly on the children's menus. But Disney has made excellent strides in recent years to add quality and variety to the counter service options. You can find items like BBQ chicken and ribs at the Flame Tree restaurant at the Animal Kingdom or hummus sandwiches and clam chowder at the Magic Kingdom's Columbia Harbor House. All very yummy. You can scope out the situation in advance by looking at the full menus for the Disney restaurants. These are available from several excellent independent websites such as allears, net or disneyfoodblog.com.

Good luck with your planning and let us know if you need additional assistance.
