Hi, Anthony! I am so glad you stopped by with this really great question because I have a good bit of information to share with you. My husband prefers to stay at a
Disney Deluxe Resort Hotel for one very big reason - that daybed in the room! It is perfectly sized for our teenager, which means I get to share a bed with our younger daughter and he gets a bed all to himself. The teenager does not mind sleeping on that daybed a bit and actually prefers it to a regular bed. The daybed mattress is 72" long and 32" wide, which I bet will fit one of your teenagers well. This makes it pretty close to a twin-sized mattress. Instead of the couch pulling out into the room, such as ones that contain queen-sized mattresses, the back couch cushions flip down to convert to a daybed and reveal the mattress. This allows you to still retain all the floor space in the room.
In contrast, the Murphy-style fold-down bed found in select
Disney Moderate Resorts are a good bit smaller. My younger daughter loves that bed and always declares it her "tiny princess bed," not allowing any of us to even sit upon it. The mattress on it measures 64" x 30", which I assume will be way too small for your sons. My teenager snuck a quick try on it once and quickly learned it was best to let her little sister have it!
There are currently
room-only and Disney Resort Hotel Package Special Offers that cover this summer through August. Disney Deluxe Resorts usually receive a higher discount, so stop by that page to see if you can put together a magical stay for your family. The
amenities at all Disney Deluxe Resorts are amazing, but we honestly prefer Disney's Yacht and Beach Club Resorts when they are available. These two resorts share
Stormalong Bay feature pool, which is truly more like a water park. I am sure your teenagers would love it!
Thanks again for stopping by and please let us know if you have any other questions!
