Ahoy, Carolina!!
Welcome to planDisney! Arrrrgh! A birthday surprise! How exciting! The
Blue Bayou Restaurant is the most elegant treat for special occasions, isn't it? My husband and I shared our first anniversary meal there, and it's always easy to transport myself back to that moment. I can almost catch a whiff of the barge water now, the firefly lights twinkling, and the
Pirates of the Caribbean boats drifting by. Perhaps even
a signature cocktail to savor the moment.
Now, Carolina, Blue Bayou reservations are like a coveted chest of doubloons. It's such a popular location that getting a dining reservation here has always been hard. I was able to confirm that the area is undergoing renovations during the week of January 7th and is not accepting reservations for dining that week. However, I also checked for your January 23rd visit but could still not find an available table.
But fear not, me hearty! My pal,
Panelist Amanda D, an expert at at reservation plunderin', shared a valuable secret. Sometimes, the Blue Bayou might open its gates for reservations closer to the date, even though the resort usually opens them up
60 days in advance.
I would encourage you to keep a watchful eye on
the dining website as your visit draws near. And here's a scurvy trick that I usually resort to the walk-up list. If it's all booked online, swing by the restaurant in person as soon as they open to check if they have any tables available for the day.
I know it's not the news you were hoping for, Carolina. But please feel free to
send me another question, and I'll get you a quick answer. I'd love to share more of
my favorite tips to help make your Disney dreams come true!
Fair winds and following seas,
Danielle
