I’ve been trying to get a reservation for the Blue Bayou since February. We are planning on going to Disneyland for my son’s 23rd birthday on 6/23. It said on the site to give at least 60 days. Now, it shows in the app that you can reserve dates. But can’t

Welcome to planDisney, Michelle. We're so glad you stopped by to share this question. There's no other place that I would rather be celebrating my birthday than at the Disneyland Resort. I'm so excited about your upcoming visit with your son and am thrilled to help.

The Blue Bayou Restaurant is such a magical place to dine. The glow of the lanterns, the crickets chirping in the background and of course the boats from the Pirates of the Caribbean floating by. It's no wonder that this dining spot is incredibly popular.

I'm so sorry to hear that there were no dining reservations available for your special visit. You are correct that dining reservations can be made up to 60 days in advance. Because this is such a popular spot, reservations are usually scooped up right at the 60-day mark and typically within the first hour (or even less) of them becoming available.

Don't lose all hope and keep believing. I have a couple of recommendations for you. You can continue to check the site for availability as you never know when another Guest's plans may have changed. You can also try the Mobile Dine Walk-up Availability feature in the Disneyland app on the day of your visit. For your best chance with this option, I recommend trying to join the waitlist for lunch and arriving just before the restaurant opens so you're ready with your app. You will also need to be near the restaurant in order to join the walk-up list.

Be sure to stop by City Hall on Main Street, U.S.A. to pick up a complimentary birthday button to wear around the parks. I love wearing this on my special day. It's so fun to get birthday greetings from Cast Members (and sometimes other Guests) throughout the day. You can also ask a Cast Member for your birthday button inside most shops on Main Street, U.S.A.

Michelle, I hope this is helpful. I'll be sending all the pixie dust your way in the hopes that you will be having a celebratory birthday meal with your son at the Blue Bayou Restaurant next month. Here's wishing your son a most magical birthday at the Happiest Place on Earth!
