Hi Colleen!
Welcome to planDisney! I am a big fan of Disney Gift Cards. When I am not answering planDisney questions, in real life I am a nurse. When we have a baby boom at the hospital, a little overtime means I get to buy a Disney Gift Card on payday! Did you know, if you have a Target Red Card, you can purchase Disney Gift Cards with a 5% discount? Guests can also often find discounted Gift Cards around the holidays, especially at select warehouse clubs.
Purchasing Disney Gift Cards can be a great way to slowly save up for a visit to the
Walt Disney World Resort. Before our trips, I go online to the
Disney Gift Card website as you have, and combine the cards. You are correct, the maximum allowable amount that you can hold on one gift card is $1,000.
But Hakuna Matata, Colleen! No worries! While you may only use one credit card per transaction for both Disney Theme Park Tickets and
Walt Disney World Annual Passes, you can use an unlimited number of Disney Gift Cards. You’ll need to enter each Gift Card individually, and always do the Gift Cards first. Once you have depleted your gift card balances, if there is any remaining payment, that is when you would apply the balance to a credit card.
I hope this is helpful information, Coleen. Now go purchase those Walt Disney World Annual Passes! (And don’t forget to make your
Disney Park Pass Reservations!)
