I am trying to purchase disneyland tickets and reservation to parks but website tells me to use another credit card when my credit card is valid. What do I need to do to purchase tickets to park with my credit card?

Welcome to planDisney, Steve! We are a bunch of Disney planners at heart and always happy to help a fellow Guest make their plans more magical for a trip to the Happiest Place on Earth!

Boy, do I know how frustrating it is when technical glitches prevent you from doing what would normally take just a few taps of that magic wand. I'm so sorry to hear you are having some difficulty purchasing tickets through the Disneyland website. This happened to a friend of mine recently, and with a little faith, trust, and pixie dust, she eventually did get the purchase to go through. If everything is in the clear on your end, it's likely just a website hiccup. While I don't have a magical assist to suggest here other than to give our Guest Services team a call or the typical troubleshooting solutions (clear your cache, close out and reopen the web browser, restart your device, and so on), I am hopeful that those tickets will be yours!

My fellow panelist Tony has also found himself answering this very type of question, and he suggests purchasing a Disney Gift Card in the amount that you need to purchase those tickets. When you go through the checkout process, you will see the option to pay with a gift card, which seems to go a bit more smoothly for some reason! I know, it adds another step in the process for you which is not ideal, but I also know how eager you must be to get those tickets purchased, so it may be worth a shot!

I can see that you arriving during those last few days of summer! While we will be rolling into fall, it's sure to still be hot in Southern California. Here are a few of my best keep-cool tips:

    • Make a lunch reservation. This is some guaranteed time out of the sun and the park hustle and bustle to cool down, fill up, and recharge. You'd be surprised how much 45 minutes in some air conditioning can power your second wind for the afternoon!
    • Stay Hydrated. I like to bring reusable water bottles for myself and my family to refill at bottle-filling stations throughout the parks! And if you forgot yours back in the room, Hakuna Matata! Just go into any quick-service restaurant and ask for a complimentary cup of ice water.
    • Know where to go. There's a spot in each park where I like to go for a good, long break from the sun. In Disneyland Park, you can't go wrong with The Disneyland Story presenting Great Moments with Mr. Lincoln just at the top of Main Street, U.S.A. Watch Abe Lincoln himself orate his vision of the future and spend as much time as you need in the lobby walking through memorabilia of the Disneyland days of yore. Over at Disney California Adventure Park, you won't believe all there is to discover at the Animation Academy. Learn to draw some favorite characters from Disney animators themselves, explore Beast's library, and you can even have a whole conversion with Crush from Finding Nemo!

Steve, I hope this was helpful! If you have any more questions, be sure to reach back out to us here at planDisney!
