Trying to plan a trip for 2014 with 2 little 4yr old girls. Trying to avoid long lines and extreme heat, we are thinking either early may or september. Can you help?

How exciting you are planning a Walt DIsney World vacation for 2014, Tiffany! As a mom of four children which includes a set of twin boys, I completely understand wanting to choose a time of year to visit that is ideal in regards to both weather and crowd levels. I have visited in early May and during the month of September in the past. The independent website allears.net features a Historic Attendance Levels Chart which categorizes early May as "moderate attendance," the first part of September until Labor Day as "highest attendance," and the week following Labor Day through the end of September as "lowest attendance." In regards to weather, the average high temperature in May is traditionally in the mid to upper 80s with the average low temperature in the mid 60s; whereas, the average high temperature in September is usually in the upper 80s with the average low temperature in the low 70s. The humidity levels are definitely a factor you may consider when making your decision. The humidity is usually much higher in September than you will find in May which makes it feel much warmer. As a Georgia resident myself, I would personally recommend visiting in early May rather than September even though the crowd levels may be somewhat lower in the fall. One of my absolute favorite trips was when we took my daughter at age four during early May. We found the weather to be very comfortable and the crowds minimal. Another perk of visiting in May is that the Epcot International Flower & Garden Festival will be going on during that time. I hope this helps in making your decision! Please don't hesitate to write me back with any additional questions that you may have as your planning continues. Best wishes for a magical 2014 trip, Tiffany!
    Happy Planning,
