I am trying to plan a trip for my fiance's birthday, do you still offer free admission for someone who comes to the park on their birthday? It will also be my 3 year old's first visit and I want to make sure we make the most of it. Thanks.

    Hello Kristina!

Welcome to planDisney! Spending your birthday at the Walt Disney World Resort is always magical. When I wasn’t looking forward to a big, middle-aged birthday that ended in a zero, I turned it into something I was looking forward to by spending a practically perfect day at Magic Kingdom followed by a special dinner. You’re never too old or too young to enjoy a day at Disney!

Unfortunately, the free admission on your birthday was a one year only promotion back in 2009 and has not been offered since. My husband spent his birthday in the park that year and it was a magical way to celebrate for so many Guests.

While the free birthday admission is no longer available, I do have some other fun ideas to make your finance’s day one to remember. First, check out Disney’s Special Offers Page to see if there is a promotion that works for your dates. For example, there is a current promotion for those staying 4 nights or more at a Walt Disney World Resort Hotel, where if you purchase a 4-day theme park ticket, you’ll get two additional days added to your ticket!

To make the most of your day, I recommend arriving at the parks early. Stop at Guest Relations in the theme park, or a Walt Disney World Resort Hotel Concierge Desk and request your complimentary birthday Celebration Button. Cast Members and Guests will shower your fiancé with Happy Birthday wishes throughout the day! I also recommend making an Advance Dining Reservation for a special birthday meal. Visit the restaurant podium earlier in the day and you can request a Mickey Mouse Celebration Cake to be brought out at the end of the meal to surprise your fiancé! Cakes are available on a first-come, first-serve basis, so be sure to sneak over to the restaurant early in the day, or you can call in advance to have a cake added to your reservation!

I hope this helps as you plan your exciting birthday celebration, Kristina. Wishing your fiancé a very happy birthday, and the two of you best wishes on your upcoming marriage!
