We are trying to plan a trip to Disney in Oct. My wife and I are planning and debating whether to stay in the new Animation (Littel Mermaid Room) or Port Orleans-Riverside Royal Room? She is thinking of the extra cost. What do you think?

It's great to hEAR back from you, Allen! How exciting you are planning to visit Walt DIsney World in October!  I think you are considering two great resort locations for your trip to the "Happiest Place on Earth!" I actually stayed in The Little Mermaid standard guest room at DIsney's Art of Animation Resort in December and a Royal Guest Room at Disney's Port Orleans Riverside Resort just last weekend! Although the room size is comparable in both guest rooms, I found the The Little Mermaid standard guest room to be more whimsical and fun; whereas, the Royal Guest Room was beautifully decorated with rich fabrics and featured magical surprises left behind by Disney Princesses, unique artwork, and headboards that have fiber optic special effects. I know you mentioned in your previous question that you will be celebrating your daughter's birthday during your upcoming trip. I honestly think she will feel like royalty in this beautiful guest room fit for a princess! Disney's Port Orleans Riverside Resort offers a relaxing atmosphere, beautiful landscaping throughout the property, fun recreational activities, and great dining options.  If you are planning to visit Downtown Disney during your trip, you will also enjoy the added benefit of being able to travel there via the Sassagoula River Cruise. At Disney's Art of Animation Resort, I love the dedicated bus service, the Big Blue Pool and the attention to detail at every turn! Although I do love both of these resorts for different reasons, I would have to say that my favorite is Disney's Port Orleans Riverside Resort and I personally believe it is worth the additional cost.  I hope this information helps in making your decision. Should you have any additional questions, please don't hesitate to write me back. Best wishes for a magical trip, Allen!
    Happy Planning,
