We are trying to plan a trip to Disney in November. When will the resorts be decorated for christmas, specifically AKL? What kind of decorations are there, is there a gingerbread house?

Hi, Scott!  Decorations begin sprouting up in early November, and if I recall correctly, you'll see most of the decorations up by Thanksgiving weekend.

You can find Christmas trees themed to each resort's theme, and the Animal Kingdom Lodge tree always has some very cool animal ornaments and ornaments with an African theme.  I just took a peek at my personal photos from our trip to Animal Kingdom Lodge last Christmas, and there were beautiful wreaths and lighted garland hanging on the higher floors that you could see in the lobby.

If you are looking for gingerbread, the place to be has always been the Grand Floridian.  They have always had a life size gingerbread house on display, and it is well worth a trip over there to see and taste the gingerbread cookies available for purchase.

    Have a great vacation!
