I am trying to plan a trip for 5 days in November or 1st week of Dec. When is the best time to go. We have not been there since 2006 and have always gone in Sept. I am trying to plan where the kids don't miss too much school. Help!

    Joanne,

So that we are clear, no matter what you want to make sure you miss the week of Thanksgiving. That week is PACKED!

So between the first 2 to 3 weeks of November, and the first week of December, I would opt for mid-November. Why? Well, while the first week in December is a bit lighter in the crowd department, the weather is more reliably good in early November. I know these dates are only a few weeks apart, but it can make all the difference. It can also determine if it is comfortable swimming weather or not. Of my last 3 trips during the first week of December, only on one of them was it nice enough to swim. But in my early-to-mid November trips I have always enjoyed nice swimming weather.

As for when within November, the first week is a bit busier, and it gets progressively lighter until that busy holiday week at the end of the month. If you can go in that second week, I think you are optimally placed.

BOTTOM LINE: Go for the second week of November, if you can!

    Have a magical vacation!
