I am trying to plan my son’s birthday at Disney world. He will be 2yr. I was hoping to have help with any special things that Disney has extra for birthday kids. Also, which places I can reserve to see characters, and if there is a siggestions on rides

Oh TWOdles, Alyssa! I'm so glad you brought your question to planDisney! It feels like just yesterday I was planning my now 15-year-old son's Mickey Mouse-themed second birthday, and I'm thrilled to help you add a little extra magic to your celebration for your little boy.

To kick off your trip in full party mode, visit any Guest Relations location, or the front desk if you're staying at a Disney Resort, to pick up a complimentary Celebration Button for your son. He can wear it proudly, or you can attach it to your stroller for the entire trip. Cast Members -- and even fellow Guests -- will love wishing him a "Happy Birthday!"

I recommend making a breakfast reservation at Chef Mickey's, located at Disney's Contemporary Resort. This character dining experience features a tasty buffet and the opportunity to meet Mickey and his closest friends, all within easy Monorail access to Magic Kingdom. Plus, every 30 minutes or so, Mickey and his pals lead a fun napkin twirling dance, which is always a hit with the little ones.

Here's a tip for you: Be sure to mention to the Cast Member at check-in, as well as your server know that you're celebrating your son's birthday. While it's not guaranteed, they might surprise your birthday boy with a special treat to make the day even more magical!

There are plenty of ways for your son to meet Mickey Mouse and other characters in the theme parks. Simply open your My Disney Experience app and tap on the location icon on your Home Screen. Underneath "Wait Times," select "Characters." You'll find a complete list of characters available to meet, along with their locations throughout Walt Disney World!

There are a few must-do attractions I think your son would absolutely adore. At Magic Kingdom, don't miss the indoor play area before hopping on Dumbo The Flying Elephant. Be sure to explore the Fantasyland attractions as well, like "it's a small world," and The Many Adventures of Winnie the Pooh. And what little boy doesn't like taking a ride on the Walt Disney World Railroad?!

Disney Junior Play and Dance at Hollywood Studios is a fun-filled dance party featuring Disney Jr characters, including Mickey Mouse. And you absolutely won't want to miss Mickey & Minnie's Runaway Railway! This family-friendly attraction takes you inside a whimsical cartoon world. It's a must-do experience that perfectly captures the magic and charm of Disney.

One last tip before I go: I would highly encourage you to purchase Disney PhotoPass's Memory Maker to capture all the wonderful memories you're about to create!

Alyssa, I hope these suggestions are helpful for planning a special birthday for your special boy. Please reach out again if there's anything else I can help you with!

Wishing your son a HOT-DIGGITY DOG birthday!
