We are trying to plan our next trip, and are thinking Jan 18-25, 2020. We do want to avoid high(er) crowds. Is this a good time, with no races, cheer camps, etc? Planning on staying at the Wilderness Lodge - there will be 6 of us total. Thank you!

Hi, Linda! We're so glad you stopped by the Disney Parks Moms Panel with your question!

Although any time is a great time to visit Walt Disney World Resort, January brings lower crowds and mild temperatures, making this an ideal time of year for your vacation. The Walt Disney World Marathon Weekend takes place on January 8-12, 2020, and the UCA & UDA College Cheerleading & Dance Team National Championship is from January 17-19, 2020. It looks like you've picked the perfect week, Linda! Crowds may be slightly higher on January 18-20, due to MLK weekend, but the rest of the week looks to be smooth sailing.

So let's talk about Disney's Wilderness Lodge! This resort ranks high on many Guest's lists for good reason. Themed to look like a Pacific Northwest National Park Lodge, the Wilderness Lodge's lobby is wow-inducing. Make sure to spend some quality time hanging out next to the 82-foot tall Grand Canyon Fireplace. While you're there, notice the details in the totem poles and the unique Disney touches. For some "R and R" time away from the Parks, the food Geyser Point Bar & Grill hits the spot, and it is nestled on the shores of Bay Lake. I've also heard rave reviews of the new character dining experience at Story Book Dining at Artist Point with Snow White. I was lucky to sample the menu last fall, and the Winter Squash Bisque was delicious!

I hope you have a magical trip, Linda! Please stop back if we can help you again.
