Hi! We are trying to plan our first WDW trip with our children (ages 5 and 7). We really wanted to avoid staying on 1 hotel room, but are on a tight budget. Is the All Star family suite worth the extra $700 it would cost us? Any other advice re:hotel?

Hi, Heather!  If avoiding staying together in one bedroom is not a viable option, then I'd recommend the All Star Music Family Suites.  To begin with, you can't beat the two full bathrooms.  That not only helps expedite getting ready in the morning, but it also allows for bathroom emergencies!

You can save a little bit of money by planning to do breakfast in your suite.  The suites are equipped with a small refrigerator and a microwave, and you'll also have paper plates, bowls, and plastic utensils.  We've done cereal, yogurt, fresh fruit, and even hot cereals like instant oatmeal and Cream of Wheat.  This can be a morning time saver as well as a budget stretcher, because you can rotate in and out of the showers while people are enjoying breakfast.

I also like the separate bedroom for Mom and Dad.  At the end of a long day, the kids may want to go right to sleep, but you've got the next day to get ready for - clothes to lay out, maybe an itinerary to go over, or maybe you just want to watch the night time news.  Having that room for a bit of privacy is a really nice thing to have.

We enjoyed the suite a great deal, and I wouldn't hesitate to recommend them, but you have to determine what in your budget is of value to your family.  This is a nice option for a bit of separate living space.

    Have a great vacation!
