I am trying to plan our first trip to Disney World for our family of 5 (9, 7, 4 all girls) and I want this to be very exciting and affordable. I have no clue where to start on my planning. Where do I start, plane travel included?

Hi, April!  You may want to begin by checking out the official Walt Disney World website.  If you scroll to the bottom, there is a link for Walt Disney World Special Offers.  This will show you any special promotions or discounts being offered for travel to Walt Disney World.  These offers have in the past included things like free dining, room discounts, or special packages.  It's a good jumping point to get going.

A family of five used to only have the option to stay in a deluxe resort, but not anymore.  You'll find Walt Disney World offers accommodations at every price point for families this size!  You can stay in a family suite at the Art of Animation Resort or a room with a trundle bed at Port Orleans Riverside.

You'll want to decide how many days you want to visit the theme parks, if you think you might want to park hop, meaning you'll visit more than one park in one day, you could add the park hopper option to your passes.  To keep things affordable, I'd skip that option and plan on doing only one park per day.

You can opt to purchase one of the dining plan options.  This will help you to prepay some of your meals, so you won't have to worry so much about it when you arrive on your vacation.

If you visit Walt Disney World Vacation Packages, it will walk you through step by step.  It allows you to choose your resort, then offers you ticket options, dining plan choices, and airfare.  It's an easy tool, and if you have any questions about what choices to make based on your family's needs, just come back and let me know!

No worries - the planning should be almost as much fun as the vacation!
