Ahoy, Suzi!
It is great to hEAR from you again. I'm excited that you're looking forward to another magical voyage with Captain Mickey! And I'm sure you can't wait to visit
Disney's private island, Castaway Cay. There is nothing quite like a day visiting this tropical paradise in the Bahamas.
Suzi, there have been many visits to Castaway Cay that my family has just let the day unfold. We've reserved bike on the spot and grabbed tubes, floats and snorkel gear from Gil's Fins and Boats without any problem at all. There are plenty on hand so you should not have any trouble walking up if you decide you want to take a spin around the island or laze around in the ocean. There is only one spot to rent bikes near the Pelican Point Tram Stop, but two float/tube/snorkel locations-one near the Snorkel Lagoon and the other just before you get to Pelican Plunge. You'll only need your "Key to the World" card for the rental fees.
Since it sounds like you're going to take it easy when you visit Castaway Cay, I have a few other suggestions for your day there. Spring-A-Leak is a great place to cool off as well as the waterslides at Pelican Plunge. One of my son's all-time favorite activities on Castaway Cay is the Whale Dig at Monstro Point. This is usually offered for the kids who are checked into Scuttle's Cove, but there is also a Family Dig normally scheduled in the early afternoon. Your cruise newsletter will list the details so I suggest checking it out because it's a lot of fun to witness the excitement as discoveries are made in the sand!
Thank you for sailing over to "sea" us here at the Disney Parks Moms Panel, Suzi! It was a pleasure assisting you again with our cruise plans.
Have a magical day!
Nancy
