We are trying to look at room options for 3 adults and 3 kids to all stay together at a Deluxe resort, preferably Animal Kingdom Lodge. Do we have to only look at rooms that stay "Sleeps 6 Adults" since some of party are kids?

    Happy New Year, Madison!

I'm absolutely thrilled to welcome you to planDisney! How exciting that you're in the midst of planning a trip to the Most Magical Place on Earth. I truly believe that planning is a big part of the magic. It's where the excitement starts to build, and the dreams begin to take shape. In fact, I might be a little known for always having a Disney vacation in the planning stages, because the fun begins long before you ever arrive!

I love that you're thinking about making Animal Kingdom Lodge your home away from home! It's such a special resort and really feels like an experience all on its own. The theming is incredible, and there's something extra memorable about spotting animals outside the windows or while you're walking around the resort. It's the perfect place to slow down, soak in all the unique details and theming, all while being fully immersed in the magic.

When booking your resort room, Disney counts everyone in your party when determining room occupancy. So, if you have six people traveling, even if three of them are children, you'll need to book a room that accommodates six guests.

The only exception is for a child under the age of three. In that case, you may book a room that sleeps five, since one child under three does not count toward the room's occupancy. Just keep in mind that this applies to only one child, even if more than one child in your party is under three years old.

With that in mind, if you're hoping for everyone to stay together in one room, you would need to book either a one or two-bedroom suite with Club Level Access, or a two-bedroom villa. Another option would be to book two separate standard rooms.

Madison, I hope this information has been helpful as you continue planning your trip. If you come across any other questions, please feel free to swing back over to planDisney! We're always happy to help.

    Have a WILD time!
