Hi Mad, and welcome back to planDisney! There’s nothing better than visiting Disney World with family, so let’s do some troubleshooting and get you ready for your vacation!
It sounds like you and your family already have MyDisney accounts and added each other to your
Family & Friends List. So you’re on the right track! In the
My Disney Experience app, if you go to ☰ in the lower right corner, scroll down to Account, and select Profile, you’ll see a list of everyone you’re connected to in the Family & Friends List section. Anyone you currently share plans with, such as a hotel or dining reservation, will be at the top under We’re Planning Together and everyone else will be under My Other Family & Friends. You’re linked to everyone on this page, which means you can do things like book
Lightning Lane Passes and join
Virtual Queues for each other, no matter which list they're on.
If you have shared plans with someone but they’re not under We’re Planning Together, they may not be correctly linked to your resort hotel reservation. When you book or link a reservation on the Disney World website, it’ll ask you to choose guests from your Family & Friends List who are staying in the room. However, it sounds like your resort hotel reservation isn’t linked yet (more on that in a little bit!), so that may be why your We’re Planning Together list is missing people. This can also happen if the wrong people or profiles are selected when you book or link the reservation.
Another way people show up under We’re Planning Together is by adding them to dining reservations you booked. Under Future Plans, select your dining reservation and then Update Party to add people from your Family & Friends List. You don’t need to do this for your family to eat at the restaurant (I usually just leave myself on the reservation and the rest of the party will default to Guest 1, 2, 3, etc.), but if you add someone, the reservation will also show up in their plans. This can be helpful if your parents want to see what reservations you booked for the family.
Now, let’s figure out why your resort hotel reservation isn’t showing up in the My Disney Experience app! If you booked your room on the Disney World website, while logged into your MyDisney account, the reservation should appear magically under your plans. But many international guests have to book through a travel agent, so you may need to manually link your reservation. Go back to Future Plans in the app, scroll down to Missing a reservation?, and press the Link to Account button. Go to the Type ID section and you’ll see under Resort Reservation where you can add your confirmation number and last name on the reservation. If you don’t have a confirmation number, your travel agent should be able to provide it.
If you’re still having issues, I’d suggest talking to a Disney World Cast Member. The app's Help & Feedback section has a Chat With Us option and a Cast Member would be happy to continue troubleshooting.
I hope this helps set you up for a pixie-dusted visit to the Most Magical Place on Earth! If you have any other questions before your trip, we’d love to have you back at planDisney.
