Ahoy there, Sunita!
We’re so glad to welcome you to planDisney today. My family sailed on Disney Dream from the Port Everglades terminal in Fort Lauderdale earlier this month, so I’d be happy to fill you in on all the details you’ll need once you touch down in the Sunshine State.
Based on your arrival date, I'm guessing you might be sailing on
this Disney Destiny itinerary. If so, you'll be embarking from
Port Everglades Cruise Terminal #4, which is located at 1800 SE 20th Street, Fort Lauderdale, FL 33316. We embarked from the same Terminal and found the luggage drop-off process quick and convenient. We actually arrived a bit ahead of our scheduled Port Arrival Time, but were directed to a waiting area outside the security and check-in area until it was our turn to enter the terminal. Before we knew it, we were walking through that iconic Mickey ear tunnel and onto the ship for a weekend of sun and fun.
The Port Everglades Terminal is about 4 miles from Fort Lauderdale-Hollywood International Airport, so it shouldn't be too long a drive. Traffic can be unpredictable, but Google Maps estimates the travel time to be within 10-25 min, depending on the time of day. I'm hoping you'll have fair winds straight to the port.
I've heard so many fabulous things about
Disney Destiny and hope to experience it for myself someday soon, particularly dinner at Pride Lands: Feast of The Lion King and a hauntingly delicious cocktail at the Haunted Mansion Parlor. I definitely need to go the distance to see the
‘Disney Hercules’ stage show, which I've heard is impressive to say the least.
Sunita, I'm so excited for you to experience plenty of Disney magic on your sailing this summer. If you have additional questions in the meantime, please sail right back to planDisney and let us know.
Magic and memories,
Amy
