Trying to figure out how much cash to bring to tip waiters for character/table service meals with deluxe dining plan. Is there a place where the exact prices for each meal is listed? 2 adults/1 child per meal and generally tip 20%.

    Hi Elizabeth,

There are several independent websites which post the full menus and prices of the Disney restaurants. The most comprehensive is allears.net. Even though you will be paying with Dining Plan credits, your tip should be based on what you would have paid for the meal had you been using cash. This means that if you order a pasta dish, your out of pocket on the tip will generally be less than if you had ordered filet mignon. And yes, 18-20% is a standard meal tip rate at WDW.

There is an overview of the Disney tipping situation on the independent website blog.touringplans.com. Search there for an article called, "Frequently Asked Questions About Tipping at Walt Disney World." This should give you the complete scoop on the topic.

Good luck with your planning. Please let us know if you have additional questions.
