I am trying to make dinner reservations....we built in a "rest day" if we don't want to eat in our resort that night, what are our other options??

Welcome to the Disney Parks Moms Panel, Amy!

Making advanced dining reservations is part of the fun of planning a magical Walt Disney World vacation, isn't it? I just love checking out the restaurants and planning our days and where we will dine.

It's a great idea to build a "rest" day into your vacation. There is so much to do in the parks each day, but even a day not visiting the parks can have so much magic. The resorts have activities going on throughout the day and night too, and yes, fabulous dining. You might check out the dining options at whichever Disney Resort you'll be enjoying, but if that doesn't strike your fancy, did you know that you can make dining reservations at any of the Disney Resorts, whether you're staying there or not? It's true! My family and I may dine at our resort once or twice during our trip, but quite often, we're visiting other resorts to try the dining there. Check out the restaurants at any of the resorts and see if one of those sounds like a great fit for your family, and book it! To get there, just take the complimentary Disney transportation to one of the parks and then over to that other resort. Super easy! Plus, it's fun to wander the other resorts and get a taste for what they have to offer. You may even find a new favorite resort to stay at the next time you visit Walt Disney World!

Disney Springs is also a fun place to spend a day away from the parks for some shopping and dining, so don't forget to check out the fabulous restaurants available there too!

Have so much fun planning, Amy!
