Welcome aboard, Dana! The Wonder or the Dream? What a tough decision! I love both ships, but they are so different! The Dream is much larger than the Wonder, and includes the popular AquaDuck watercoater at sea! The Wonder is smaller and more intimate than the Dream, which I love, and was just renovated to add some amazing new venues and activities, including Marvel Superhero fun!
I think the biggest factor to consider is which itinerary you'd like to enjoy and when, as the Dream and the Wonder travel to different destinations throughout the year. Once you're set on that, you'll know which ship is the one for you!
The
AquaDuck is so much fun! My son, like yours, is a thrill rider lover! I remember our first cruise on the Dream, and that he was just an inch too short to ride the AquaDuck and was so disappointed! But, he's made up for that many times over now, by riding it over and over each time we sail on that ship! Guests must be at least 42 inches tall to ride. Guests younger than 7, like your son, will need to ride with someone age 14 or older, so I hope you're up to ride the waves too! The first part of the ride is a fast splash into the tube encountering some fast dips and turns, then the second half is a lazy river style relaxing jaunt where you can wave to friends on the pool deck. It ends with a splash at the end!
I can't wait for you and your son to try it out! But, if you decide on the Wonder, I promise you're in for all sorts of excitement there too! My son especially loves the new
Marvel Superhero Academy in the Oceaneer Club where he got to hang out with Black Widow, Spider Man and Captain America! Talk about being in heaven!
You're in for a magical cruise on either ship, Dana! Good luck choosing!
