Trying to decide between a 1 BR villa at Rivera resort or bay lake towers. I have never been to Rivera and have been to bay lake twice but in a studio. What are the pros and cons to one or the other.

Welcome BACK to planDisney, Jan! It is so great to see you here asking another vacation question.  Trying to choose a resort from the incredible selection of Disney Vacation Club Resorts can be tough, with so many wonderful options from which to choose. It sounds like you are torn between two really fantastic resorts, so I will do my best to try to help you determine the resort that best suits your needs and interests.

I am always a fan of trying out a new Disney Vacation Club Resort, one that my family hasn’t had the opportunity to experience, but I understand the pull to stay in a favorite resort that you know and love. Both the 1-Bedroom Villas in Disney’s Riviera Resort and Bay Lake Tower at Disney’s Contemporary Resort accommodate up to five Guests and offer over 800 square feet of luxurious space. The 1-Bedroom Villa in Bay Lake Tower at Disney’s Contemporary Resort does offer two full bathrooms, where the 1-Bedroom Villa in Disney’s Riviera Resort has one split bathroom with two sink areas.

Bay Lake Tower at Disney’s Contemporary Resort is just a short walk away from Magic Kingdom Park and has the added convenience of monorail transportation from Disney’s Contemporary Resort. Plus, you have all of the fabulous dining options in Disney’s Contemporary Resort such as Chef Mickey’s and California Grill. If you are looking for a classic Disney vacation with easy access to Magic Kingdom Park, you may want to stick with this resort.

If you are looking for a new Disney experience, one with some pizzaz and European-inspired flare, Disney’s Riviera Resort will not disappoint, with gorgeous porticos, simple elegance, and a lovely waterfront promenade perfect for an evening or morning stroll. Disney’s Riviera Resort offers access to what I believe to be the best transportation in all of Walt Disney World, the Disney Skyliner, whisking you away on an aerial gondola with gorgeous views as you make your way to EPCOT and Disney’s Hollywood Studios. This resort also offers one of my favorite Character Dining experiences; Breakfast á la Art with Mickey and Friends at Topolino’s Terrace. Regardless of where you decide to stay, I highly recommend that you book this incredible breakfast experience!

I hope that this information helps you to choose the resort that best suits you for your next stay in The Most Magical Place on Earth! Please remember that you’ve got a friend in us here at planDisney, so stop back by any time we can help answer your vacation questions.
