    We are trying to decide where to stay for our 7 night 8 day trip to WDW in Sept. We have narrowed it done between Wilderness Lodge and the Princess rooms at Port Orleans Riverside. We are traveling with another family. With us will be a 3 and 4 year girls.

    Allyson,

    That is a tough call. Both are very appealing. Either way you go, you are going to like it, but assuming cost is not a factor, I would opt for the Wilderness Lodge. Here are a few reasons why;

    • Like me, you have two young daughters. They are going to lead to you spending most of your time at the Magic Kingdom. That means a short, scenic boat ride, rather than a long, boring bus ride.
    • Resort amenities are better at the Wilderness Lodge. More, better in-resort dining, including the Whispering Canyon Cafe make for a convenient, delicious, and festive time.
    • The resort theme is pretty immersive, making for a more magical experience.
    • The in-resort Child Activity Center means you could get a date night out without having to go to another resort to drop them off.
    • Quick access to the resort marina, the Fort Wilderness area, and the monorail resorts, means quick and convenience access to many restaurants and outdoor activities that you would otherwise have to travel to get to.
    Again, it is a close argument either way. I am just calling it the way I would go in your shoes (which I am in, trust me!).

    Write me back if you have any follow-up questions!

    Have a magical vacation!
