We are trying to decide on Port Orleans FQ and Wilderness Lodge. There is about a $800 dollar price difference. Is it worth it to stay at the WL? We have a 9 and 6 year old. All the input you can give on both resorts would be great! Thanks!!

'Worth it' is very subjective, so it's hard for me to give you a yes or no answer.

The Wilderness Lodge is one of my favorite Disney resorts. The architecture is amazing and the entire property is gorgeous. It has several unique features, like Firerock Geyser and the opportunity to be a 'Flag Family'. (Each day one family is permitted to assist with raising the American flag on the roof of the Lodge, giving you a rare and breathtaking view. If interested, ask at check-in if there are any openings during your stay.) We also like being able to ride a boat over to the Contemporary Resort (where you can hop on the monorail) or to Ft. Wilderness. From this resort you can also watch the Electrical Water Pageant every evening, and possibly catch a glimpse of the Wishes fireworks as well. And Wed-Sat at 9 am there is a resort tour available, which I highly recommend.

On the other hand, Port Orleans - French Quarter is also a nice resort. Their food court is, in my opinion, the best of all the moderate resorts. This is also a very scenic resort, with a lovely walking path along the Sassagoula River and the opportunity for a horse-drawn carriage ride nearby (at Riverside). Also at the nearby Riverside Resort is the River Roost Lounge, which Wed-Sat is the home to YeeHa Bob, a family favorite. It's called a singalong, but that doesn't fully convey how fun and funny an evening there really is. Children are also welcome.

Back to your 'worth it' question - I think it depends on how much time you plan to spend at your resort. If you will be in the parks from open to close, then a value is all you need. If you'd like to hang out at the pool, you might appreciate the addition of waterslides at the moderates. If you want to spend a great deal of down time at your resort, you will appreciate the luxuries of a deluxe. If you evaluate your travel plans, I think you'll find your answer. :)
