Trying to decide on hotel. Traveling w/ a 5 yr old & a 2 1/2 year old. Thinking of staying in a monorail resort, but wondering if the convenience offered will really be worth the extra cost. Our 2nd choice is Swan/Dolphin. Thoughts?

    Hi Kelly!

I've stayed at many of the Walt Disney World Resorts and I can tell you that at Disney, time is money. While the Deluxe Resorts that are along the monorail line cost more, you also save a tremendous amount of time. At Grand Floridian, Polynesian and Contemporary, you are right on the monorail line for Magic Kingdom, which is a huge time saver. You can be at the parks in minutes and don't have to worry about taking the Disney bus transportation or driving.

If you prefer Epcot, you can stay at Yacht and Beach Club or the Boardwalk Resort, which are both only a short walk away from Epcot. You can also walk right to Hollywood Studios from those resorts as well. I think that Polynesian is the best because you can take a monorail to Magic Kingdom or Epcot, the dining options are wonderful (Ohana is my favorite restaurant) and the resort is beautifully themed!

Since your kids are young, it may be good for you to stay at one of those resorts so you can easily go back to your room midday for them to take a nap, and then quickly go back to the parks at night so you can see the parade and fireworks.

    Magically,
    Stacy
