We are trying to decide on what hotel to stay at. We have stayed at Contempory and Grand Floridian near Magic Kingdom for the past couple of years and was thinking of trying another hotel near Epcot. How is the Yahct Club Resort?

I have stayed at all of Disney's deluxe level resorts - they are all superb. You really can't go wrong with any of them. The Contemporary and Grand Floridian are particularly great if you have young, stroller-bound children and will be spending the bulk of your time at the Magic Kingdom. However, if you have slightly older children, my favorite resort is Disney's Beach Club. Here's why:

    1. Stormalong Bay, the pool complex shared by the Yacht & Beach Clubs, is BY FAR the best pool at Walt Disney World. It's practically a mini water park right there at your hotel.

    2. You're in walking distance to the restaurants/activities at the Boardwalk.

    3. You're walking distance to Epcot. I LOVE having easy access to all the restaurants there and then after dinner you're back at your room in no time.

    4. You're an easy boat ride or a longish walk away from Disney's Hollywood Studios. This means you've got good proximity to TWO theme parks.

    5. The villas at the Beach Club mean that the gift shop is particularly well stocked with basic food items.

The Yacht Club is terrific. The main reason I like the Beach Club better is that it is closer to Epcot. When you're tired after a long day of touring, every step back to your room counts.

If you're looking for a change, you'll be in great shape at the Yacht or Beach Clubs.

    Enjoy your vacation!
