Trying to decide between disney gift card or disney dollars for my niece and nephew who will be visiting in September. Are they both universally accepted or is one a better idea over the other in terms of acceptance throughout WDW? Thanks for your help!

    Hi Ellen,

What an awesome aunt you are! The Disney dollars and Disney gift cards are generally excepted at the same Disney World locations and are basically ithe same. The only exception i have seen to this is a few merchandise carts that did not have the capability to scan the gift card. I have not run into this in some time so I would expect this to no longer be an issue.

I personally prefer the gift card option. The card is much easier to keep track of since it is one card instead of multiple "dollars". The plastic card is also less likely to become damaged if it gets wet or stuck in a pocket or bag. I also like the fact that additional money can be loaded onto the card at any time. This means that I can let my kids add their own money to the card and keep track of the funds all in one place.

    Happy shopping to all!
