Hi Kristin!
I definitely think that the
Disney Dining Plan is well worth the money. Not only because it saves money, but it saves time and stress as well.
You may be pleasantly surprised with the selections offered on the adult menu that your 12-year old son will enjoy. If he's a picky eater, I highly suggest dining at the all-you-care-to-eat restaurants, such as
Crystal Palace,
Chef Mickey's and
Tusker House. These dining experiences are all buffet restaurants and they have everything from chicken fingers and french fries (my son's staple) to steak, fish, mashed potatoes and desserts. Your son will find something he likes from this wide array of food. As a bonus, all three of those restaurants I mentioned are character dining experiences, which are so much fun! The dining at Walt Disney World isn't just about the meal, although the food is great, but it's about the full experience! You can meet characters, have fun and unique experiences and put your feet up and enjoy a break from touring the park.
I think your son will also love the
Sci-Fi Dine in Theatre at Disney's Hollywood Studios. You can actually dine in a car while watching old movies on a big screen. The food is typical American fare, burgers and fries, and it's so much fun!
Magically,
Stacy
