Trying to decide between Contemporary, Beach & Yacht Club. With a theme park view at the Contemporary can the fireworks be seen from you balcony? Can the Epcot fireworks be seen from the Beach or Yacht club rooms?

I have stayed at the Contemporary twice in the past three months, and nearly a dozen times at the Beach Club over the years. These are excellent resorts, as is the Yacht Club, you can't go wrong with any of them. Let me give you some observations that may help you decide:

    - You can see Wishes from the Magic Kingdom view rooms at the Contemporary (as well as from several public areas at the hotel). I had a room with this view in January 2010. I never thought I was a person that cared much about the view, but I have to say that this was spectacular.

    - There are very few rooms at the Yacht/Beach that have any sort of a view of the Epcot fireworks, but you can see the fireworks from the Yacht/Beach beach.

    - If your kids are small and will spend the majority of their vacation at the Magic Kingdom, then the monorail access offered at the Contemporary is unbeatably convenient.

    - If your children are older and you will want to share the great international foods at Epcot with them, then the Beach Club is the way to go. I LOVE being able to have a great meal with my family at Epcot's World Showcase and then having just a quick five minute walk back to our room at the Beach Club.

    - The other possible deciding factor would be your family's interest in swimming. The pool at the Yacht/Beach Club (actually a giant pool complex called Stormalong Bay) is truly outstanding, the best at WDW by far. Stormalong Bay has a shallow sandy-bottom area for toddlers, a junior water slide for younger kids, as well as a drifting river area for adults and older children. Also there are a super-fun whirlpool zone and a really spectacular water slide or big kids.

    - We have always chosen the Beach Club over the Yacht Club because of the easier walk to Epcot.

    - At the Yacht/Beach you have easy access to TWO theme parks (Epcot and DHS), whereas at the Contemporary you have easy access to just the Magic Kingdom.
